With a special groove under the foot, the piping foot holds the cord in place whilst it is overlocked in place. Either prepare the covered binding first and then overlock onto the project or attach the cord into the binding and onto the project in one go.

Jane's Top Tip! For a softer piping apply with the cord and then pull it out afterwards.
